Red Crown Lodge - 7/31/14

The Red Crown was exquisitely beautiful!!  In addition to a great venue, we had perfect weather for Plein Air painting!!  A large and ambitious group of 10 showed up and the staff at the Lodge couldn't have been nicer!!  We did get ourselves invited back next summer!!

Coon's Franklin Lodge - OUTSTANDING!

....as was the general consensus!!  So beautiful and well maintained and lots of compositions to choose from.  10 artists came to 'paint' and an additional 2 people joined us for lunch! We even had a bit of time to share our work!  (see pictures) Everyone at Coon's was very welcoming and we are invited back next season (for those of you who missed it!!)

June 19, 2014 Koller Park

While the weather looked 'iffy', it turned out to be a good morning for painting!!  Sadly...only 3 people came to paint!  Happily...we all painted pieces that we liked!!  We finished kind of quickly and went to the Pea Patch for lunch!!  Great!!

2014 season begins

We went to 'Downtown Minocqua' to kick off the season.  We were 10 artists which is a great start!!
There are so many choices for subjects to paint that we were pretty much spread out around town.  However, we all got together for a very nice lunch at the Thirsty Whale!!

2014 Schedule Published!

The schedule for 2014 has been published and updated on this Blog!  It looks like a very exciting summer of painting with several new locations. 

We will be going to the Red Crown Lodge (a very exclusive and private location for retreats and conferences) and Coon's Franklin Lodge (a classic, traditional Northwoods resort).  In addition, we will try some new nature sites going to the Hawk's Nest Canoe rental locations in both Eagle River and Manitowish!!

The weather killed us with a rain storm but the few hearty folk showed up and we were able to paint in the greenhouse.  Followed up with lunch of Mexican!

Marywood Spiritual Center

We had a wonderful, large group of artists at Marywood.  There was beautiful frontage and lots of interesting vignettes to choose from.  Here are a couple pictures from the day.
